November 28, 2005 - Now that the Xbox 360 launch frenzy is dying down (somewhat) in North America, we can now turn our attention to the upcoming launch for our friends across the Atlantic in Europe where the launch is expected to be no less frantic.
As in the US and Canada, much speculation has persisted regarding the exact volume of units of the console that will be available at launch. Today, Microsoft did shed some light on this by more or less confirming analyst expecations of a 300,000 unit launch in Europe, according to
this report at GamesIndustry.biz.
According to the report which cites an interview with German publication Euro am Sonntag, Microsoft executive Chris Lewis states that the estimates of a 300,000 unit launch for Europe were "not far removed from reality" and that the console was expected to sell out with the same rapidity as it had in North America.
If the North American launch is any indication, then our European readers are in for quite an exciting time on December 2nd and we're looking forward to hearing your comments on your experiences.
