Ist mit Sicherheit nicht ohne (richtig grosses) Risiko. Aber wenn er halbwegs so einschlaegt, wie man sich das erhofft, ist man vermutlich fuer die naechsten 10 Jahre auf der QB Position gut besetzt.
Neueste Manning-News:The NFL is taking away millions of dollars of salary-cap space belonging to the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins for front-loading contracts during the uncapped 2010 season, according to league sources.
The salary cap is projected to be $120.6 million in 2012, but the Cowboys will lose $10 million, while the Redskins will be docked $36 million in cap space, sources said.
Dallas and Washington can split the cap loss over the 2012 and '13 seasons in whatever form they prefer, with $1.6 million each going to 28 other NFL teams, the sources said. The New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders are the only two teams that will not receive a portion of the money.
Among the coaches Peyton Manning plans to personally meet with during the next three days include Joe Philbin of the Miami Dolphins and Mike Munchak of the Tennessee Titans, according to sources.
Manning on Sunday completed an exhaustive three-day road trip in which he is known to have visited with the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals, the two teams that sources believe have emerged as the favorites for the free-agent quarterback.
Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs failed in their attempts to get Manning to visit their facilities and are no longer considered contenders for the quarterback, sources said.
In all, 12 teams contacted Manning after he was released by the Indianapolis Colts last week but not all of the teams have been publicly identified.
Packers free-agent QB Matt Flynn is scheduled to arrive in Seattle later tonight, then spend Friday with Seahawks. Miami visit will follow.
Quarterback Matt Flynn and the Seattle Seahawks agreed to a three-year contract worth up to $26 million, with $10 million guaranteed, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora on Sunday.
