PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Owen Nolan scored his first two goals of the season to help the Toronto Maple Leafs close out their five-game road trip in style.
Toronto scored four straight goals in the second period, including Nolan's second, to earn a 5-4 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes and close their trip at 3-1-1.
Nolan opened the scoring 8:52 into the game with a power play goal, but the Coyotes took a 2-1 lead on goals by Jan Hrdina and Ladislav Nagy in the first 5:31 of the second period.
Then, the Maple Leafs struck back. Just 96 seconds after Nagy's goal, Nik Antropov scored to tie the game, putting the puck past Sean Burke after Burke deflected Mats Sundin's pass from behind the net.
Joe Nieuwendyk redirected a shot from Gary Roberts a minute and a half later to give the Maple Leafs the lead, and Ken Klee made it 4-2 with a power play goal 54 seconds after that. Nolan's second goal of the game capped Toronto's scoring.
The Coyotes got back into the game on a goal by Daymond Langkow before the end of the second and another by Nagy early in the third, but Toronto goaltender Mikael Tellqvist held strong, making 29 saves for his first win of the season.
Phoenix's Brian Savage injured his hand in the first period and did not return.
