The good news is we are planning to send out your copy of GTA IV tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd April, to be with you first thing on Thursday 24th, so the wait is almost over.

In order for us to do that, could you:

- Let us know which format you would prefer to receive the game on?
- Let us know your Gamertag, if the answer to the above is Xbox 360 or your PSN On Line ID if the answer is PS3.

Why we need to know.

Xbox 360 Version

We need your Gamertag because Microsoft will be helping Rockstar Games monitor access to the online modes up to release date. Because of this, we will need to add your Gamertag to the approved list of gamers who can play online prior to release. In addition to supplying this information, if you do intend to go online before April 29th, you will need to change a couple of the basic settings on your Xbox 360 and keep these settings like this till the game comes out, otherwise other people will be able to see your achievements list for GTA IV (even if you are playing another game) and we’d like to keep that information back for the fans. You will have to switch your profile to private and appear off line. We have attached a document that explains exactly how you do this just in case.

PS3 Version

There are no privacy settings that can be set on the PS3 but we will still be tracking who is going on line so again it will make it easier for us to identify you as a genuine user if we have your ID.

Und warum zum Teufel bekommst du eine Mail von Rockstar? Halte das doch eher für einen Fake.

Ich meine eher... was will uns Tails damit sagen? Das das Spiel nun am 24. April kommt... steht ja da drin. Das er es am 24. bekommt und es am 23. verschickt wird, damit er es früher zocken kann. Und dann irgendeine Anleitung für die 360 wie man GTA4 Online zockt und man sich als Offline anzeigen lassen soll damit die Fans die Archivements nicht sehen und das man überhaupt GTA 4 zockt. Aaaahjaaa...

Aber... was soll das nun bedeuten?

Edit: Im Spielegrotte-Forum ist die Mail auch schon angekommen. Wie einige dort meinen... die Mail warnt irgendwie, wenn man GTA 4 schon vor dem 29. bekommt soll man eben seine Konsole so einstellen das man Online nicht sieht das man GTA 4 spielt. Das soll eine Art "Warnung" sein. Jaja, wen interessierts? Letztendlich ist der Verkäufer schuld wenn er das Spiel zu früh verkauft, nicht der Käufer. Sollen andere und MS und Sony doch sehen das man GTA4 schon vorm 29. Online spielt. Sperren dürfen die einen nicht, denn als Käufer hat man keine Schuld wenn man ein Spiel schon früher hat.

Laut videogaming247.com werden alle PSN-ID's und 360-Gamertags festgehalten die vor dem offiziellen Release mit einer Kopie von Grand Theft Auto IV online gehen.

Damit ist nicht der Onlinemodus im Spiel selber gemeint, denn dieser wird vor dem Release nur für zugelassene Personen bereitstehen deren ID dafür freigegeben wurde.

Also kurz gesagt: MS und Sony sperren erstmal Gamertags und IDs fürn Onlinemodus vorm 29.
Na das ist ja normal bei Spielen mit Onlinemodi. Kennt man ja das bei vielen Spielen dann keine Server usw. aktiviert sind und erst am Releasetag da sind.
Nun, und laut Mail schickt Rockstar GTA4 morgen an die Händler...!?

Das würde ich auch mal gerne wissen. Mein Kumpel, ist auch z.Z. in den USA stationiert, und er hat seine dt. 360 mit. Die meisten Ami-Spiele funktionieren bei ihm auf seiner dt. Box, außer die ganzen EA-Games, und noch ein paar andere Games.

finde die konsequente medienblockade aber eigentlich gut. das hat in letzter zeit wirklich überhand genommen, dass irgendwelche pickel-amies ein hype-game schon ne woche eher gezockt hatten und alle infos online standen. immerhin is ja noch ne woche hin, ich seh schon so prollo-nerd sein exemplar auspacken und tausende die neidisch irgendwelche storys über GTA4 verbreiten, welche garnicht stimmen. nimmt man aber zum vergleich die harry-potter-releases, dann scheint das massenverhalten nicht nur bei den videospielen so zu sein.:dead:

Ich habe mir nur die letzte Minute angeschaut, also die Ingame-Szenen. Was man gleich sieht: das Lighting ist sehr gut, anscheinend ist die Stadt ziemlich detailreich und wirkt deutlich echter als in den Vorgängern. Aaaaaber es ruckelt und zuckelt ziemlich in den schnellen Kurven. Hoffentlich ist die 360-Version da etwas besser, was ich aber nicht glaube.
