It's that there have been changes regarding AA and I have not had any extended conversations about this with the art devs so I don't know 100% the official state of things is in that area. I'm not in the office right now either -- but this thread is fairly out of hand. My understanding is that the game is doing 2xAA during actual gameplay, and maintaining 4xAA during replays. Why? We need to lock physics and gameplay at 60/360 fps and so yes, a sacrifice had to be made in that area. With all the simulation and AI running under the hood, it was quite a task to get FM2 locked at 60 fps, and we felt it was a feature we absolutely could not compromise.

Forza 2 looks like what it looks like, and it's easy to make the game look pretty blah if you take in-game buffer screen dumps because you lose all sense of motion (no blur or depth). I don't expect that the game will be all things graphically to everyone, but there's a whole lot of GAME going on in FM2 which makes riding out these pre-release screenshot debates kind of hilarious. When photomode, livery editor, auction house and tournaments are unleashed in a month, the screenshot wars should subside and hopefully the stealth trolling too.

Why wouldn't it be like the Mugello race video? Because that's completely in-game, except running at a lower framerate. I guess the power of motion blur compels you. As it does most people who see it.
