Mit dem gestrigen Beginn der Free Agency hat die NFL quasi den Startschuss für die neue Saison erhalten. Es ist das letzte Jahr des aktuellen CBA und es gibt dadurch keinen Salary Cap für diese Saison. Sieht man schön an den bisher ausgehandelten Verträgen. Teams, die letztes Jahr in den Divisional Playoffs waren, dürfen allerdings nur ihre Abgänge kompensieren und keine zusätzlichen Spieler unter Vertrag nehmen. Was danach kommt, steht noch in den Sternen. Wollen wir mal hoffen, dass man sich bis März 2011 einigen kann und einen Lockout verhindert.

Dansby, Dolphins agree to five-year contract
Karlos Dansby and the Dolphins agreed to terms on a five-year contract that will make the free agent the highest-paid linebacker in the NFL, according to a league source. Dansby’s deal is worth a maximum of $43 million, with $22 million guaranteed. Dansby will average $9 million over the first three years of the contract.

The Lions have agreed to a four-year, $26 million deal with 31-year-old DE Kyle Vanden Bosch, according to a league source. The deal calls for $10 million to be paid in the first year.

The Ravens obtained Boldin from the Arizona Cardinals on Friday in exchange for a third- and fourth-round pick in the 2010 draft. Boldin, 29, has amassed at least 1,000 receiving yards in five of his seven NFL seasons, including 1,024 yards on 84 catches last season.
Boldin, who was scheduled to enter the final year of a deal that would have paid him $3 million in 2010, agreed to a new deal that added three years on his existing contract, according to NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora. Boldin's new contract is worth a maximum of $25 million for the final three years, with $10 million guaranteed, a league source told La Canfora.
Chargers trade troubled CB Cromartie to Jets for 2011 draft pick
It might be a lot tougher to throw against the New York Jets next season.
A few hours before the NFL's free-agency period began, the Jets agreed to acquire talented but troubled cornerback Antonio Cromartie from the San Diego Chargers in a trade Thursday night. The deal was completed Friday.
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported the trade, and the Jets later confirmed the deal to The Associated Press but didn't release specifics. According to La Canfora, the Chargers will receive at least a third-round selection in 2011, and it could become a second-round pick, depending on Cromartie's performance.
