NFL Saison 2010/2011 - Super Bowl XLV: Packers vs. Steelers

Steve Austin

Blasters Bester

April 22-24 - 2010 NFL Draft
Sept. 9-13 -- 2010 Kickoff Weekend
Oct. 19 -- Trading deadline
Jan. 2 -- Regular season ends.
Feb. 6 -- Super Bowl XLV, North Texas

Receiver-needy Ravens land Boldin in trade with Cardinals

The Baltimore Ravens couldn't pass up the opportunity to add a talented pass catcher -- three-time Pro Bowl selection Anquan Boldin.

The Ravens obtained Boldin from the Arizona Cardinals on Friday in exchange for a third- and fourth-round pick in the 2010 draft. Boldin, 29, has amassed at least 1,000 receiving yards in five of his seven NFL seasons, including 1,024 yards on 84 catches last season.

Boldin, who was scheduled to enter the final year of a deal that would have paid him $3 million in 2010, agreed to a new deal that added three years on his existing contract, according to NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora. Boldin's new contract is worth a maximum of $25 million for the final three years, with $10 million guaranteed, a league source told La Canfora.
Chargers trade troubled CB Cromartie to Jets for 2011 draft pick

It might be a lot tougher to throw against the New York Jets next season.

A few hours before the NFL's free-agency period began, the Jets agreed to acquire talented but troubled cornerback Antonio Cromartie from the San Diego Chargers in a trade Thursday night. The deal was completed Friday.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported the trade, and the Jets later confirmed the deal to The Associated Press but didn't release specifics. According to La Canfora, the Chargers will receive at least a third-round selection in 2011, and it could become a second-round pick, depending on Cromartie's performance.

So Jake Delhomme will make about $19.675 million this season. His agent is my early nominee for Agent Of The Year.
:D

The NFL has changed its overtime rules for playoff games.

Starting next season, if a team wins the coin toss and then kicks a field goal, the other team gets the ball. If the game becomes tied again after that next series, play will continue under the current sudden-death rules.

Should the team winning the toss immediately score a touchdown, then the game is over.

Team owners voted 28-4 on Tuesday in favor of the proposal at the NFL Annual Meeting. The Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens were against the change.

The New York Jets acquired talented but troubled wide receiver Santonio Holmes from the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night for a fifth-round pick in this month's draft, sources confirmed by ESPN.com.

Dolphins send Broncos two picks for Brandon Marshall, give him extension

The Dolphins acquired the high-maintenance Pro Bowl wideout from the Denver Broncos on Wednesday in exchange for a second-round pick (43rd overall) in next week's draft and another selection next year. Marshall then flew to Miami and signed a four-year extension worth $47.5 million, with $29 million coming in the first three years, a league source told NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

Dolphins trade Ginn to 49ers

Ginn, a receiver and quality return man, was traded to the 49ers on Friday for a fifth-round pick -- the 145th overall selection. The Dolphins had him on the block even before they acquired Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall on Wednesday from the Denver Broncos.

Eagles acquire LB Sims, Lions land TE Scheffler in three-team trade

Looking to upgrade their linebackers, the Eagles hope former first-round draft pick Ernie Sims can be a solution. The Eagles acquired Sims in a three-way deal with the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos on Monday. Philadelphia dealt a fifth-round pick to Denver, which sent tight end Tony Scheffler and a seventh-round pick to Detroit. The Lions sent Sims to the Eagles.

One and only: Taylor accepts two-year deal with Jets, his lone suitor

Booed and despised by New York Jets fans for years, Jason Taylor now is on their side. The former Miami Dolphins linebacker agreed to terms with the AFC East rival Jets on Tuesday, bolstering a defense that ranked No. 1 in the NFL last season.

Taylor will receive a two-year, $13 million deal, a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL.com senior writer Steve Wyche. Realistically, however, it's a one-year contract with heavy incentives and guarantees Taylor $2.5 million with a maximum of $3.75 million, the source said.
