Pittsburgh Penguins traded C Tyler Kennedy to the San Jose Sharks for San Jose's second-round pick (No. 50).
New Jersey traded its first-round pick (No. 9) to Vancouver for G Cory Schneider.
The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Tuesday they've agreed to terms with defenseman Kris Letang on an eight-year, $58 million contract extension. It begins with the 2014-15 season and runs through 2021-22, with an average annual value of $7.25 million. Letang has one season remaining on his current contract at $3.5 million.
Pascal Dupuis will remain a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dupuis, who could have become an unrestricted free agent Friday, signed a four-year contract worth $15 million on Tuesday night to remain with the Penguins.
Center Vincent Lecavalier, bought out by the Tampa Bay Lightning last week, has agreed to a multiyear contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, the team announced Tuesday. Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia and Darren Dreger of TSN report the contract is for five years and $22.5 million, an average annual value of $4.5 million. ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun reports the contract includes a no-movement clause.
