So being starved for a new PS3 game I decided to pick up the PS3 version of Fight Night due to the hyped first person mode even though I have the 360 version. I normally find boxing games much easier to play in first person (anyone remember Prize Fighter on the Sega CD?!?), so I was excited to check out Fight Night in First Person.
W.T.F.?
Firstly you can't do it in career mode. Nope.
Secondly it's SHIT. You have these disembodied Rayman arms where you can see inside the hollow polygon arms and they're completely loose and unresponsive. The game is almost UNPLAYABLE in this mode due to how shitty your Rayman arms control.
Not only that, the game looks worse than the 360 version. It's like I'm playing it on a PS2.5. Where there were polygonal crowds in the 360 build, there are just now flat pixelated sprites in the PS3 one.
Also as far as I can tell the "awesome" and "exclusive" ESPN intergration does not work with the network.
Sure, EA trolls will come in here saying "It's EA, what did you expect?" Yea, it's EA but the 360 one was excellent and on a system that can
solve a Rubix Cube and make it explode just by using its mind you expect a bit more.
Sigh. At least the game feels a tiny bit better to play using the SIXAXIS due to how the sticks are arranged in comparison to the 360 pad.
