Sony's performance at last year's E3 was quite a big and exciting one. But this year, if indications of Sony's E3 booth is correct, they will have hands-down one of the best and most memorable showings of any E3. Aside from the possibility of revealing Legend of Dragoon 2, Sony will, reportedly, be setting up playable Socom: US Navy Seals kiosks with microphone attachments, to demonstrate the game's voice activation and 16 player online feature. The microphone will allow Socom online players to communicate with their team members, which makes for an excellent inclusion. Also believed to appear at the show is Twisted Metal: Online, in playable form, among the announcement of other online titles including GameDay and Hot Shots Golf.
This E3 is believed to feature an enormous focus towards Sony's online strategy, as Sony will announce the pricing of the HDD and it's release, which shouldn't be too far off E3, as the US Linux PS2 kit will come bundled with it when it is released in May, so it makes you wonder. A new price-cut of $100 is expected for the PS2, weighing the console in at a not too shabby $199 retail tag, pitting it head to head with the GameCube, and widening the price gap between the Xbox. Sega is also expected to make a few healthy announcements regarding the PS2, which is pointing towards an announcement of Summer release of Jet Set Radio for the PS2, and even a statement from Yu Suzuki of Shenmue III arriving on the PS2 and possibly Xbox. That should be very interesting to see, no doubt about that.
Shenmue III !!!!!!!!
Leute, das wär doch was!
