Japanese firm Vinclu is releasing a new smart home device that doubles up as a "virtual wife" for lonely men.

The Gatebox, targeted at single young men, features a holographic character that talks and even texts you.

The device won't be on the market until late 2017, but it's already prompted mixed reactions.
