OUTRUN 2 FOR SPRING 2003!
World shakes as impossibly overdue racing sequel on the Xbox-compatible Chihiro arcade board is confirmed, with greater Sega announcements looming...
16:12 Sega's AM2 division, headed by the omnipotent Yu Suzuki, has confirmed that a sequel to one of the most treasured arcade racers in history is finally set for release. Outrun 2 (name unconfirmed) will release in Japanese arcades this Spring.
Furthermore, Sega is rumoured to be making some major announcements regarding its online software strategy in the near future, possible as part of the Japanese conference calls on January 17, 20 and 22.
Nintendo of Europe MD David Gosen added fuel to this speculative fire when, on Tuesday, he answered a question regarding pricing for PSO on GC with: "Sega will be making a big announcement in the next ten days or so."
While this could just relate to PSO on GameCube, insiders believe Sega has a number of online titles up its sleeve, including a brand new version of Sega Rally, which may well end up taking advantage of Xbox Live or Sony's equivalent service.
These are exciting times for Sega fans and we'll keep you bang up to date on all developments.
