Sega of Japan has released new details on their financial results and forecast.

Financial Results
The operating profit forecast for this year will be 11 billion yen (86.4 millions dollars US)
Positive results were attributed by the success of Virtua Fighter 4 in arcade and PlayStation 2
Net sales for the period fell 15.1%, partly due to cessation of Dreamcast hardware production
Domestic sales decreased by 4.5% to 160.090 billion yen, oversea sales decorated 38.5% to 46.244 billion yen
Operating income was 14.201 billion yen (111.5 million dollars US), ordinary income totaled 12.471 billion yen (97.9 million dollars US)
Consume Products Performance
In 2002, Sega of Japan will release 14 PlayStation 2 titles, 8 GameCube titles, 7 Xbox titles and 13 GameBoy Advance titles
Virtua Fighter 4 sold 1.5 million units worldwide
Super Monkey Ball and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle sold 1.2 million units worldwide
Jet Set Radio Future sold 660 thousand units worldwide
Sonic Advance sold 1.7 million units worldwide
Sega Sports titles showed particularity strong performance in US market.
Game Forecast
Sega plans to release Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution in arcade
Sega has secured 7 years exclusive rights to all 700 works of Osamu Tezuka, include Astro Boy and Kimba the White Lion
Sega plans to add a new simulation soccer game to the Sega Sports series
New version of Sonic the Hedgehog, Shining Force and Sega Rally are under development
A survival horror adventure based on The House of The Dead is under development
A new sequel of Sakura Taisen is under development, which will target for oversea markets (US / Euro)
Sega plans to match up with Electronic Arts' EA Sports series on the release dates

GeiL! Kimba war die erste Animé Serie im französischen Fernsehen, in den frühen 70ern. Damals noch in Schwarz/Weiß. Später wurde das nochmals in Farbe aufgelegt (das was auch in D lief).
Ähnlich verhält es sich auch mit Astro: da gab es ne frühe Variante (allerdings in farbe) und später ne aufgepäppelte Version, die in den 80ern sehr erfolgreich war.

Return of the 70es Animés? Es scheint so.

- Kimba, der weisse Sega-Löwe

ja und vorher liefs im ZDF wie Heidi und die Biene Maja und Captain Future. Mann hab ich das Samstagsnachmittags Kinderprogramm geliebt

Der Kimba Manga der letztes Jahr von Carlsen in 3 Teilen rausgekommen ist, sollte man sich als Kimba Fan mal antun

Auf ein Spiel würd ich mich echt freuen; wenn mich nicht alles täuscht war aber doch schon vor Jahren mal ein Kimba Game fürs N64 angekündigt!? Weis da einer was genauer ???

Aber dann wurde es doch gecancelt.
Merkwürdig dass es jetzt von Sega kommen soll
