Laut Sony ist Final Fantasy V jetzt doch dabei:

FF Anthology : The Real Deal

Last week Sony killed mod chips and threatened to short-change PSone owners with the release of half the content that made up Final Fantasy Anthology in the United States.

Unfortunately, we jumped the gun. Final Fantasy Anthology is due to launch in Europe for £9.99 (roughly €16) on February 29th. Although not identical to the American package, it will include Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI and a demo of the forthcoming PlayStation 2 release, Final Fantasy X.

Absent from the package will be the soundtrack CD found in American bundles. There is no further word on Anthology’s sibling Final Fantasy Chronicles – made up of Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger – but if one sells well we can probably expect to see the other shortly.

Ich wünschte, die könnten sich irgendwann mal entscheiden...
Mir ist es ja ehrlich gesagt egal, da mich sowieso nur die Demo zu FFX wirklich interessiert, aber trotzdem wärs schön zu wissen, für was ich 15 € bezahle...

Immerhin eine gute Nachricht, allerdings könnte ich liebendgerne auf die FFX Demo verzichten, unter Umständen auch auf FFV, aber ich WILL diese Soundtrack CD
Andererseits: 16€ für zwei Topspiele und eine coole Demo sind konkurrenzlos billig.

Wie nun bekannt gegeben wurde wird nun doch nicht der Titel Final Fantasy Anthology in Europa erscheinen, sondern lediglich eine neue Fassung von Final Fantasy VI.


Die Pal Version von Final Fantasy VI wird am 27.02.2002 für ca. 14,95€ in Deutschland zu haben sein. Das Game wird lediglich ins Englische und das Handbuch auch ins Deutsche übersetzt.
Desweiterem befindet sich eine spielbare Demo zu FFX im Lieferumfang (nur mit PS2 zu spielen).

Mich beschleicht irgendwie das Gefühl, dass dieses Pack eigentlich nicht "FF6+Demo von FFX als Dreingabe für die Fans", sondern FFX Demo+FF6 damit wir nicht angemault werden, dass wir ne Demo für 15€ verkaufen" heißen

Aber bis zum 28.Feb hat Square ja noch genug Zeit, es sich noch 10mal anders zu überlegen

Ach ja, der Bericht von oben wurde heute einem Update unterzogen...

Update 04/02: Amazingly, we're now hearing that Europe is not going to receive Final Fantasy V after all. So in other words, they're doing what we said they would do last week. I think the best plan for now is that you all assume the game has been canned, and then when Sony spits something out at the end of the month, everything will be okay...
